Arriva Midlands

Further VDL SB200/Wright Pulsars to arrive here from Arriva North West have been 2669 (from Runcorn) and 2670 (from Birkenhead), which have been allocated fleet numbers 3773 and 3774 here. Both were initially allocated to Telford but 3774 has now moved to Milton Keynes.

Scania Omnilink 3505 has transferred from Tamworth to Arriva The Shires (at Luton).

VDL SB200/Wright Pulsar 2 3737 is back at Tamworth after another loan spell at Derby. Similar 3745 and 3747 have been repainted out of MAX livery into Journey Mark at Derby. Yutong U11DD demonstrator YD73FTP spent a week here on loan at Derby, operating the University of Nottingham services, numbered 9001.

ADL Enviro 400 MMCs 4530 and 4531 have transferred from Thurmaston to Arriva North West (at Bootle), with ADL Enviro 400s 4424 and 4429 going the opposite direction, the former renumbered to 4438.


Butlers Brothers Coaches

Former Millennium Travel of Mansfield East Lancs Lolyne PA06 AHN (formerly registered G19 MTL) has joined this fleet.

Plaxton President 695 (X695 YUG) has been withdrawn and is now awaiting scrap.


Centrebus

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter/Ilesbus I-City WP23 HXJ and BK24 JVD are here for the new Bingham Connect service, numbered 203 and 204 and allocated to Grantham.

VDL SB200/Plaxton Centro 745 has transferred from Leicester to Grantham.


Compass Travel

Joining this fleet, from Johnsons Coaches, is Scania Omnilink YT13 HKZ (fleet number 3301).


D&G Bus

Several former Uno Northampton ADL Enviro 200s are understood to have been acquired here, identities and allocations as yet unknown.

ADL Enviro 200s 522 from Cannock and 531 from Crewe have transferred to Grantham. Optare Versa 27 at Adderley Green has been repainted into latest fleet livery.


Diamond

Optare Solos 20000, 20054 and 20677, together with ADL Enviro 200 20516 have been sold to Ensign Bus without being operated here, previously in the North West fleet.

Latest buses withdrawn are Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban 30832 at Kidderminster, Scania L94UB/Wright Solars 30902-904, Scania K230UB/Wright Solar 30908 and VDL SB200/Wright Pulsar 30909 at Burton. These represent the last of the former Midland Classic Solars to be withdrawn, having formed the backbone of the independent fleet.

Wright Streetlite DF 20184 from Preston was initially loaned to Kidderminster during March, but has now passed to Diamond South East (at Stanwell). Wright Streetlite DF 32260, and Wright StreetDecks 40840 and 40843 have been operated at Burton but are intended for Kidderminster. Similar 32261 is now in use at Tividale, having been repainted into Brighter Diamond livery.

Transfers from Diamond North West to Tividale are Optare Solo SRs 20918 and 20921, Wright Streetlite DF 32236 and Wright StreetDeck 40714.
Transferred from Diamond North West to Kidderminster are Wright Streetlite DFs 32276, 32277, 32279, 32280 and 32283.

VDL SB180/MCV Evolution 30715 has transferred from Tividale to Burton. ADL Enviro 200s 31416, 31419 and 31420 have transferred from Kidderminster to Burton.

East Yorkshire

Vehicles transferred during March were Enviro 200s 389 and 390, and Volvo B9TL 780 from Hull to Scarborough and Volvo B7TL 698 from Bridlington to Hull. Allocated to Hull are Trident/Olympus 995 and 996.

Volvo B9TL/Wright Gemini Eclipse 3209 (MX07 BSY) and 3212 (MX07 BTF) from Go North West, have been transferred here and given fleet numbers 712 and 713. They have been allocated to Hull.

Enviro 200MMCs transferred to Pocklington are 396 (from Hull), 516 (from Bridlington), and 517 and 518 (from Scarborough) with Enviro 400MMCs 927, 928, and 929 moving from Pocklington to Hull and Volvo B7TL 773 from Pocklington to Elloughton. Transfers from Hull to Scarborough are Enviro 200s 502 and 503. Enviro 200MMCs 276 and 277 are on loan from Scarborough to Pocklington in exchange for Enviro 200s 384 and 385.

Former Marchants of Cheltenham ADL Enviro 200MMCs YX22 OHT/ OUT are now part of the East Yorkshire fleet and have been given fleet numbers 289 and 290. They were both at Anlaby Road depot in Hull on 11th April. By 24th April 289 had received East Yorkshire livery with ‘North Riding’ branding and allocated to Pocklington allowing 396, which had been on loan at Pocklington to return to Hull.

Enviro 200 353 which had been away at an external contractor in Cambridgeshire had returned to Hull’s Anlaby Road depot by mid-April.


First Midlands

ADL Enviro 400s 33827, 33829 and 33830 have transferred from Adderley Green to First West Yorkshire (at Halifax), with the latter two having been repainted into Olympia livery.

Wright Streetlite DFs 47440/469-471/477/517/518, along with Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban 69370 have all transferred from Worcester to First Cymru (at Ravenhill). ADL Enviro 200s 44604/610/613 and ADL Enviro 300s 67431/436-439 have transferred from First Cymru to Worcester, with further swaps anticipated to concentrate ADL vehicles at Worcester going forward.

Volvo B7RLE/Plaxton Centro 66692 has been withdrawn at Worcester, leaving 66693 as the sole survivor of the type within First Group as of April 2024.

Volvo B8RLE/MCV Evoras 69618-622 are new at Leicester for use on the East Midlands Airport contract.

Fowlers Coaches

A new arrival here is Volvo B8R/Plaxton ‘Leopard’ AF24 WHF, which also carries the name ‘Amber’ after owner Andrew Fowler’s daughter. It has replaced Volvo B7R/Plaxton Profile YN61 AXC which has gone to Weardale Motor Services (via Plaxton Coach Sales).

Now withdrawn and for disposal are former East Yorkshire Plaxton President-bodied Volvo B7TLs PL51 LEF and X762 ABU.


go-coach

The company has advertised several vehicles for sale in the trade press. Included are a 1965 Routemaster RM2345 (CUV 345C) and a 2003 open top ALX400-bodied Trident SN03 DZM. The open top vehicles was last used by Hulleys in the Peak District last year.

Lynx

Previously unreported is the repainting of Optare Tempo 28 into red Lynx livery - it had previously been operated in all over yellow.

The seventh ADL Enviro 400MMC in the fleet, 67 (YX73 PHJ) carries route branding for the 34/35/36 group of services operating between King’s Lynn and Hunstanton. The other Enviro 400MMCs carry Coastliner branding.


Megabus/Joint Venture

New Volvo 9700s 50501-07 with Stagecoach West Scotland at Cumbernauld have Megabus livery and branding, whilst 50508-11, also at Cumbernauld carry Citylink livery and branding. Also in Citylink livery are 50512-516 which will be allocated to Perth depot at Stagecoach East Scotland. 50501 was in Inverness on 2nd May to allow for training of staff at Stagecoach North Scotland (Highlands), whilst 50501 moved to Wooley Edge during April for training of Stagecoach Yorkshire drivers.

Volvo B11R 54219, which had been in the Megabus Reserve Fleet has been transferred to Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird) at Aberdeen.

Van Hool Astromega 50278 with Stagecoach East Scotland at Perth is stood down for repairs. Van Hool Astromegas 50285/287/288/289/290/291 with Stagecoach West Scotland at Cumbernauld are being prepared for disposal whilst 50281 is at Ferrymill Motors for repairs prior to sale. Volvo B11Rs 54213/215/271 have been stood down from the Joint Venture fleet with Stagecoach West Scotland at Cumbernauld and are being transferred to the main ‘West Scotland’ fleet.


National Express West Midlands

Mercedes-Benz O405N ‘Health Buzz’ 1687 has been sold for preservation, having been replaced in that role by ADL Enviro 200 MMC 2246. Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 4648 is withdrawn at Acocks Green.

Further buses repainted into grey livery have been Volvo B7RLE 2018 at Wolverhampton, ADL Enviro 200 MMC 2213 at Acocks Green, ADL Enviro 400s 4767 at West Bromwich and 4771 at Yardley Wood. ADL Enviro 400s 4801 at Perry Barr and 4908, 4946 at Birmingham Central have received vinyl wraps into grey livery, having carried a number of allover advertisements over the past years, pending full repaints in the near future.

Dennis Tridents 4333, 4360, 4460, 4536, 4537, and 4541, Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 4504 and arson damaged ADL Enviro 400 MMC 6988 have been sold for scrap.

Further buses noted with new owners having passed through Birmingham Busworks are Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Geminis 4534 at Nationwide Coaches of Peterborough, 4660 and 4661 at British Blue Tours of Birkenhead, 4664 at Mikro Coaches of Crewe, 4669 at Fowlers Travel, and 4678 at Dews Coaches. Dennis Trident 4576 has passed to Prospect Coaches of Lye for Non-PSV use.

Newly delivered BYD/ADL Enviro 400EVs are E218–227, 230 and 231.

Seaford & District

Volvo B7TL X18 SEA and X19 SEA have been repainted into ‘The Big Lemon’ yellow based livery.

Scania Omnidekka KX04 RDU and KX04 RDV have been fitted with tachographs and seatbelts.


Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire

The planned repaint of Dart SLF 34715 into ‘Local’ livery was cancelled and it was repainted into the former ‘beachball’ livery. Scania/Enviro 400 15921 has now received Lakes livery.

Reserve Fleet Trident/ALX400s 18324/330/356/381 had been allocated to Morecambe - however during April 18356/381 returned to the reserve fleet following the return of Enviro 400 MMCs 11149/151 from Stagecoach Manchester.

Enviro 400 19569 has been transferred from Barrow to Carlisle with Enviro 200 36183 transferring from West Cumbria to Kendal. Scania/Enviro 400s 15921/922/923 have returned to West Cumbria from Carlisle whilst 15722 is at Barrow from West Cumbria and Enviro 400MMC 10559 at Kendal from Morecambe. The Seasonal Reserve Fleet has also now returned to main fleet allocation. Arrivals from Stagecoach Manchester at the beginning of May were Enviro 400MMCs 10844/845, which have been allocated to West Cumbria.

Now for disposal are Enviro 300 27530 from Kendal and Optare Solo 47617 from West Cumbria. MAN/Enviro 300 22782 has been sold.


Stagecoach East

Busway Volvo B8RLE/MCV 21367 was sent on loan to Stagecoach Manchester on 12th March.

Scania/Enviro 400 15215 and Enviro 400 19696 are the latest vehicles here to gain ‘Local’ livery.

Stagecoach East Midlands

The ‘new look’ Enviro 400H Hybrid Skegness Seasiders were ‘launched’ on 21st March entering service two days later. By the launch date eight vehicles had been converted (12029/034/036-038/041/045/046), with two further examples following in April (12047) and May (12048). The identities and registrations of the ‘Seasiders’ to enter service so far are:

  • 12029 (TIL 7901) Rocky the Seasider

  • 12034 (S815 BWC) Sunny the Seasider

  • 12036 (DAZ 5455) Sweetie the Seasider

  • 12037 (BLZ 1424) Scoop the Seasider

  • 12038 (PSU 443) Salty the Seasider

  • 12041 (S813 BWC) Sandy the Seasider

  • 12045 (PIW 4456) Teddy the Seasider

  • 12046 (WOI 3002) Shelly the Seasider

  • 12047 (BLZ 1423) Candy the Seasider

  • 12048 (IUI 3463) Rolly the Seasider

Following the transfer of the S813BWC registration to 12041, Trident 17013 was allocated replacement registration S95UBE whilst 17015, which had its S815BWC registration transferred to 12034 was given replacement registration S94UBE.

A further Enviro 400MMC to go on loan to Skegness for use from Long Sutton outstation is InterConnect- liveried 10901 from Gainsborough. It was moved to Long Sutton on 12th March entering service around mid-day on the 505 route. 10734 had returned from Long Sutton to Hull by 26th March 2024. Transferred on loan from Skegness to Gainsborough on 11th April was InterConnect-branded Scania/Enviro 400 15612, to provide cover whilst Enviro 400MMC 10901 had been on loan from Gainsborough to Skegness for operations from Long Sutton outstation. 15612 was returned to Skegness on 24th April and was then operating from Long Sutton the following day, 10901 returned from Long Sutton direct to Gainsborough on 24th April.

Open top Enviro 400 19169 has been re-registered PIW 4457, and has now entered service from Lincoln. Open Top Volvo B7TL 16943 has been transferred to Stagecoach Yorkshire.

Three Mercedes 515 CDi minibuses have been taken on hire to provide cover on the DRT services operated from Mansfield depot, these have been reported as KN24 UUE/VTL/VTZ.

Enviro 200 37197 has transferred from Gainsborough to Hull in exchange for 36526 whilst Enviro 400s 19211/380/381/383/384 are now in the main fleet at Hull. Enviro 400 19070 has transferred from Gainsborough to Scunthorpe. Enviro 300s 27205 and 27882, which had been on loan from Hull to Skegness have formally been transferred whilst 27192/197 which have also been on loan to Skegness are formally being re-allocated to Worksop (27192 had moved by 7th April). Enviro 200s 37196/204/207/208/209 have been transferred from Scunthorpe to Hull in exchange for Enviro 300s 27196/201/202/203 and also 27204 which has been on loan from Hull to Skegness.

Skegness-allocated Scania/Enviro 400 15808 was returned to service from Lincoln depot on 23rd April following long-term repairs. Also back in service on the same day after several months out of use was Enviro 200 37207 at Scunthorpe and which is now formally allocated to Hull. Now in the Reserve Fleet at Worksop (for engine replacement due to be undertaken at Hull) is Trident 18432. Back in the main fleet at Hull are MAN/Enviro 300s 22755/758/760.

The former open top Skegness Seasider fleet of Tridents 17013/015/016/479/673/676/677/678 and Volvo B7TLs 16964/966 have been sold whilst a clear out of other withdrawn vehicles has seen Volvo B7TLs 16918/939/944, Tridents 18023/024/043/048/054/055 and Volvo B7RLEs 21211/215 sold to A H Hardwick (dealer). Open Top Trident 18473 is now for disposal.

The company has received authorisation for a new operating centre (for 20 vehicles) at the FreshLinc site at Wardentree Park
in Pinchbeck, Spalding which will replace the outstation at Long Sutton. Stagecoach East Midlands added that there is no date confirmed currently on when the Spalding site will become operational.

Stagecoach East Scotland

Withdrawn and sold are Optare Solo 47485/489/604 and Trident 18332. The Optare Solos have gone to Birmingham Busworks. Transfers to Stagecoach South West have been Enviro 200s 36741/743/744 and Volvo B9R 53701.

Scania OmniCity 15058 has returned to service at Aberhill after major repairs, with 15061/067 taken out of service for engineering attention. Recent transfers from Stagecoach South East, 15181/186, have been allocated to Dunfermline.

Reserve Fleet Trident 18508 has been reinstated to the main fleet at Perth while transfers to the Rennies fleet at Cowdenbeath are Enviro 400s 19064 and 19156. Also now at Cowdenbeath are Optare Solo SRs 47748/749. Enviro 200MMCs 26112/113/114 have transferred from Aberhill to St Andrews. Scania/Enviro 400s 15460/461/462 have transferred from St Andrews to Aberhill in exchange for 15625/626/627. Out of service for major repairs at the end of March was Volvo B5LH 13055. Former Stagecoach East Scania/Enviro 400 15657 and former Stagecoach North Scotland (Highlands) Scania/Enviro 300 28649 have been allocated to Aberhill.

To provide cover for vehicles under repairs, Trident 18449 is at Arbroath. Volvo B13R 54109 has transferred from Aberhill to Glenrothes and Optare Solo SR 47748 from Glenrothes to Rennies. Now at Arbroath are Enviro 200s 36194 and 36418.

Enviro 400 transfers to the Rennies fleet are 19066/067 (from Aberhill); 19164/178 (from Glenrothes) and 19180 (from Dunfermline). Enviro 400s 19894/895 are transfers from Dumfries to Glenrothes.

The final Scania/Enviro 400 due from Stagecoach South East, 15182, has arrived here and is allocated to Dunfermline. Also, now in service here are 15463/464/658 which were transferred from Stagecoach East and are at Aberhill.

Vehicles returned to service following repairs are Volvo B5H 13055 (at Arbroath); Scania Omnicity 15061 (at Aberhill); Enviro 300 27131 (at Glenrothes) and Optare Solo SR 47955 (at Arbroath).

ForthCAV Enviro 200MMC 62003 is stood down for accident repairs whilst the company reports that 62005 is with ADL. Enviro 200s 36183 (from St Andrews) and 36184 (from Arbroath) are in the Strategic Reserve Fleet.

Tridents 18075/350/353/370 along with Optare Solo 47326 are officially withdrawn and sold. Also sold are damaged Enviro 400s 19151 and 19556. The company also reports the withdrawal and transfer to Stagecoach North Scotland (Highlands) of Trident 18196.


Stagecoach London

Enviro 400s 19804 and 19805 are reported by the company as undergoing open top conversion.

Scania Omnicity 15042/045/047/110 along with Enviro 200 36348 have been sold to North West Bus Sales. The company has reported that Enviro 200 36363 is for transfer to Stagecoach North East.

Vehicles for disposal at the end of March were: Enviro 400 10126, Scania Omnicity 15036/038-041/043/044/046/079/091/097-099/100- 104/106/108/109/118, Enviro 200 36344, and Optare Solo 47991/993/994/996/997/998. Scania OmniCitys 15046/098/118 have since been sold to Ensign Bus, 15109 is due to return to service at West Ham, and 15079/100/101/103/108 are reported for transfer to Stagecoach South East.

Enviro 200s being stood down for disposal are 36311/312/313/338/345/349-361/367/371-374. Enviro 200s 36339/340/342/343 have been identified for conversion to training vehicles.


Stagecoach Manchester

Construction of the ADL Enviro 400MMCs for BEE Network operation has been split between Falkirk and Scarborough with 11824-860 being built at Scarborough and 11801-823/861-880 being built at Falkirk. New vehicles delivered for BEE Network Tranche 2 operations from by the end of March 2024 were ADL Enviro 400MMCs 11801- 843/845/847-853, ADL Enviro 200MMCs 37631-633, and Volvo B8R/MCV eVoRa 21417/419-423/425/427-432. Additionally Transport for Greater Manchester-owned BYD/Enviro 400CityEVs 84202/204/225-227, which are for operation from Oldham had also been delivered. Also now here are the first of 14 Optare Solo SRs, 48101-114, which were originally intended for Stagecoach West Scotland. 48101-104 have been allocated to Queens Road and 48109-111 to Middleton.

The new Enviro 400 MMCs have now started entering service here, 11801-804/810-815/817-822/824-828/832/848 at Oldham, 11805-809/816/831/861/862 at Stockport, 11833/835-839/844-847/850 at Queens Road, and 11834/840/849/851-860 at Hyde Road. 11823/829/830/842/843 are in Reserve, with 11863-869 being prepared for service.

A further vehicle loaned here to assist with the mobilisation of Bee Network Tranche 2, was Busway Volvo B8RLE/MCV 21367 from Stagecoach East which arrived here on 12th March. Initially delivered to Hyde Road it subsequently moved to Queens Road.

Enviro 200s 36781/785/786/789 have been reported by the company as transferring from Oldham to Stockport, whilst Enviro 400H Hybrid 12074 is reported as being in the Reserve Fleet.

Enviro 400MMCs due to leave the Manchester fleet are 10473-478 to Stagecoach South and 10479-482 to Stagecoach South East.

Departures to Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire at the start of May were Enviro 400MMCs 10844/845. Enviro 400 19275 has been sold to PVS (dealer).


Stagecoach Midlands

Another Enviro 400 being returned to service at Northampton in March was 19089. Transferred on loan from Leamington to Northampton on March 10th was Scania/Enviro 400 15673, and was returned to Leamington on 12th April.

Dart SLF training bus 34880 was undergoing rear axle replacement at Nuneaton in late April. It is understood that the vehicle has been out of use and has not yet been used for training duties. Following fitment of a replacement engine, Enviro 400 19004 returned to service at the end of April.


Stagecoach North East

ADL Enviro 400MMCs 11771/773/775/777/778/779 went on loan to Stagecoach West at Cheltenham for the Race meeting in March. Cover at Walkergate was provided by vehicles loaned from other depots: Enviro 400MMC 10631, Enviro 300 27740, & Enviro 200 37301 from South Shields, Enviro 400 19437 from Sunderland, and Enviro 200MMC 26280 from Stockton.

Enviro 200s 37309/310/311 have transferred to Hartlepool ousting Dart SLFs 35231/234 to the Reserve Fleet and MAN/Enviro 200 39658 to South Shields. Enviro 200 37317 is now at South Shields where Dart SLFs 34833 and 35222 have joined the main fleet allocation. Back in the main fleet at Stockton are MAN/ALX300s 22341 and 22413 along with MAN/Enviro 200 24121. Also at Stockton are Enviro 400 19678 from Walkergate and MAN/Enviro 200 39715 from South Shields.

Enviro 200 37312 has returned to the main fleet at Walkergate whilst 37318/19 were transferred to the reserve fleet at Walkergate in April and subsequently moved to Sunderland. Dart SLF 35234 is now in the main fleet at Hartlepool displacing MAN/ Enviro 200 39668 to the Reserve Fleet. At South Shields 35188 is now in Reserve with 35261 in the main fleet.

MAN/ALX300 22063 was collected from Stockton depot by Alpha Recovery on 8th March, whilst 22409 has been donated to a local school.


Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird)

The planned transfer of MAN/Enviro 300 22781 has been cancelled and it is now at Elgin as a replacement for accident damaged Enviro 300 27105.

Withdrawn and for disposal is Volvo B9R 53715, which has been replaced at Elgin by 53703 which has transferred from Stagecoach North Scotland (Highlands).


Stagecoach North Scotland (Highlands)

The first three, of six, Mercedes- Benz Tourismo coaches due here had been delivered by the end of March with 59101/104/105 being noted at Inverness for into service preparations. The remaining three Mercedes-Benz Tourismo, 59102/103/106 had been delivered by late April.

It has been reported that Trident 18196 from the Stagecoach East Scotland fleet is being transferred here although the reason is unknown and it has not been reported officially by this company. Volvo B9R 53703 from Thurso has transferred to Stagecoach North Scotland (Bluebird). The transfer of Scania/Enviro 300s 28643/645 and Optare Solo SRs 47811/813 to Stagecoach East Scotland had still not taken place by the end of April.


Stagecoach South

Transferred here from Stagecoach Manchester are Enviro 400MMCs 10473-478, and are allocated to Portsmouth. Enviro 400s 19078/097 are transfers from Portsmouth to Chichester whilst 19099 and 19886 are initially being retained at Portsmouth as part of the Reserve Fleet. Enviro 200 36925 has transferred from Portsmouth to Guildford.

Sold and no longer part of the fleet are Tridents 18063/064/066/084; Enviro 200 36019 and Enviro 400s 19069/090.


Stagecoach South East

Further transfers from Stagecoach South Wales are Scania/Enviro 300s 28639/640, which are at Eastbourne with Enviro 200MMCs 26357/358/359 moving from Eastbourne to Herne Bay.

Dart SLF 34800 at Thanet is out of service and has been replaced in the main fleet by Reserve Fleet 34792. There have been a number of vehicle swaps reported at Hastings with Scania/Enviro 400s 15481/505/775 along with Scania/Enviro 400MMC 15270 at Hastings displacing 15488 to Ashford; 15482 to Herne Bay; 15555 to Eastbourne and 15284 to Thanet.

Transferred here from Stagecoach Manchester are Enviro 400MMCs 10479-482, and are currently parked up at Eastbourne in the reserve fleet.

The final Scania/Enviro 400 due to transfer to Stagecoach East Scotland, 15182, made the journey in April. Although technically transferred from Stagecoach East Midlands, becoming part of this fleet, open top Volvo B7TL 16966 was deemed unsuitable and was sold without being physically transferred. Scania OmniCitys 15079/100/101/103/108 have been reported by Stagecoach London as earmarked for transfer here.


Stagecoach South Wales

Further transfers to Stagecoach South East are Scania/Enviro 300s 28639/640.

Service revisions have seen Wright Streetlites 43001-010/012/013 transfer from Merthyr to Aberdare. 43011 will follow once long term repairs have been completed.


Stagecoach South West

Arrivals from Stagecoach East Scotland have been Volvo B9R 53701 (to Plymouth) and Enviro 200s 36741/743/744 (to Exeter).

The final Optare Solo SR, from the trio transferred here from Stagecoach East, has now entered service. 48034 was used for the
first time from Exeter depot on 18th April. The following day 48032/034/035 were all understood to have remained in the depot at Exeter and not used in service.

Repaints of Optare Solo SRs into ‘Local’ livery continue with 47098 being the latest recipient reported.

Two open top Tridents, which includes 18186, and an open top Enviro 400 are currently being sent on loan to Stagecoach Yorkshire - in exchange will be three Enviro 200s, which will transfer here in a few weeks time.


Stagecoach West

With many thanks to Dave Russell & Deric Pemberton, we can record fleet changes taking place during March/April 2024.

Vehicles loaned from other operating companies to cover additional shuttle services during the Cheltenham Races between 12th and 16th March were:

  • Stagecoach East: 10792/793/870.

  • Stagecoach East Midlands: 11692-695.

  • Stagecoach London: 10181/185/343, 11032/311, 12318, 19739/768/797/872.

  • Stagecoach Manchester: 11717/719/721/722/729.

  • Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire: 11621.

  • Stagecoach Midlands: 11651/64. Stagecoach North East: 11771/773/775/777-779.

  • Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire: 11149/151.

  • Stagecoach West (Oxford): 11239/249 (on 12th March).

  • Stagecoach South: 10436/767/894.

  • Stagecoach South East: 11605, 15265/283.

  • Stagecoach South West: 10459/495, 15319.

  • Stagecoach Yorkshire: 11648/649.

By the end of March five ADL Enviro 400EVs, 80001-05 had been delivered to Oxford. The transfer of Enviro 400MMC 11239 from Oxford to North Bristol released 10983 to transfer from North Bristol to Swindon. Withdrawn Optare Solo 47297 has been sold.

ADL Enviro 400EV, 80006 (SK24 XRG) was observed inside Stagecoach Manchester’s (TfGM) Oldham depot on 18th April, believed to be on delivery from ADL’s Falkirk site. The following day 80004 was reported as the first of the type to operate in service in Oxford with 80005 having been used in service by the end of April with 80002 entering service on May 1st. During late April 80003 was moved to Zenobe in Portsmouth (Zenobe are the provider of the depot charging equipment).

Transfers to Stagecoach East Scotland during April were Scania/Enviro 400s 15733/736. Transfers from Swindon are Scania/Enviro 400s 15857 (to Stroud) and 15858 (to Oxford).

ADL Enviro 400H Hybrid 12012 has been withdrawn leaving just three examples of the type remaining at Oxford - 12002/008/019. Reserve Fleet Trident 18314 is now at Stroud, with 18312 at Stroud moving to the Reserve Fleet at Swindon. Also now in the Reserve Fleet at North Bristol is Enviro 200 36096 which is expected to eventually move to Banbury.


Stagecoach West Scotland

MAN/Enviro 300 24190 has transferred from Dumfries to Stranraer in exchange for Scania/Enviro 300 28706. Former Joint Venture (Megabus) Volvo B11Rs 54213/215/271 from Cumbernauld are being allocated to Dumfries.

Due for withdrawal/disposal is Volvo B13R 54101.

Enviro 400 MMC 10921 is seen at Stagecoach Manchester’s Ashton depot, whilst on loan, on 19th March 2024. This has now returned to West Scotland. © Phil Sowter.


Stagecoach Yorkshire

A further open top vehicle top join this fleet is Volvo B7TL 16943 from Stagecoach East Midlands.

Now in the Reserve Fleet is MAN/Enviro 300 22654 whilst Enviro 200 36725 is reported to have transferred from Chesterfield to Holbrook and MAN/Enviro 300s 22614/647 have moved from Chesterfield to Rawmarsh. Reserve Fleet Enviro 200MMCs 37606/612/613 have been allocated to Chesterfield. Enviro 200MMCs 26025-028 have transferred from Rawmarsh to Barnsley.

Now at Rawmarsh are Enviro 200s 36186/192 from Ecclesfield. Following long-term collision repairs at ADL Anston, Enviro 200 36987 returned to service at Barnsley at the end of April with 36177 then transferring from Barnsley to Ecclesfield.

A further open top conversion here is Scania/Enviro 400 15717, which along with 15718/719 and Volvo B7TL 16943 carry Peak Sightseer livery. They will be joined by open top Trident 18467 in standard Stagecoach Local colours. To provide further vehicles for the operation this year two open top Tridents and an open top Enviro 400 are being transferred on loan from Stagecoach South West in exchange for three Enviro 200s. Trident 18186 had arrived at Chesterfield in early May.

Sold to PVS (dealer) are MAN/Enviro 300s 22618/619/630/643/646/768 while 22612/640/648/649,/765 are being delicenced.
