Enviro 200 MMC 37466 returned to service at Lincoln on 30th September 2022 following its repaint previously reported. Of note, 15507 and 19126 were the first Worksop allocation to be repainted by Lincoln depot.

A start on removing a number of Trident, Volvo B7TL/B7RLE and Dart vehicles in this fleet has commenced. At Gainsborough, Dart SLFs 34530, 34848/50, 35128/129/130/150 were moved to Reserve, with them being replaced by Enviro 300s 27762/763/784/786/881 and Enviro 200 37004. The arrival of Enviro 300s 27195/196/198/199/794/879 at Worksop enabled Enviro 200s 36001-003/005-007 to be stood down. At Hull the transfer of Enviro 200s 36450/451/523/526 here has seen the replacement of MAN/Enviro 200 39676/679/691/693. Joining the Scunthorpe fleet are Enviro 400s 19060/070/100/111, Enviro 300s 27189/191/192/764/765/781, and Enviro 200s 36059 and 37204. These have replaced Volvo B7TLs 16907/914/917/919/920 and Dart SLFs 35140/142-145/148. In addition to this, transferred from Hull to Lincoln are Enviro 400s 19018 and 19054. Dart SLF 34426 has returned to the main operational fleet at Lincoln whilst Enviro 400 19305 was delicensed at the end of October.

Transferred to the Seasonal Reserve fleet for the winter period are open top Volvo B7TLs 16943/962/965/966; open top Tridents 17013/016/673/677/678, 18473 and open top Enviro 400 19169. Now stood down after sustaining fire damage is BYD/Enviro 200 EV 30016, with similar 30017 also stood down as a result. Enviro 400 19050 has been transferred from Lincoln to Grimsby, with Dart SLF 34848 transferring from reserve (Gainsborough) to Grimsby, and similar 35150 moving from Gainsborough to Scunthorpe.

Enviro 300 27635 of Lincoln depot is still out of service, awaiting repair after being off the road since June. Enviro 200 36710 is due to transfer to Gainsborough but remains at Lincoln currently as it requires mechanical repair that has kept it off the road since late September. Enviro 400 19305 was involved in an accident in the middle of October that has caused damage to the offside gearbox hinged flap panel and some rear panel damage, it remains parked in the yard at Lincoln at the time of writing. Enviro 200 36711 has not seen active service in Lincoln since August. 21216 is now back in service at Skegness after being off the road since early August.

Of note is that Dart SLF 35131 was painted into 'Local' livery in October 2021 but never ran in service in this livery due to being painted prior to mechanical repairs needed. These were never carried out and it languished in the yard until withdrawal. Similar 35128 was withdrawn from service at Gainsborough and is now the "Rest Room" vehicle at Lincoln Bus Station and has replaced 34465 in this role, which is now officially withdrawn and resides at Lincoln depot.

This autumn has seen Scunthorpe loose nearly all its remaining Dart and Volvo B7TL vehicles, for Enviro 400s, Enviro 300s and Enviro 200s from a number of other depots. This means that the once 20 strong fleet of Road Car Vykings are now down to just three active members (16916/918/920). Enviro 400 19060 (ex-Hull) is pictured in Scunthorpe on 21st October 2022. © SimpliHull.

As we bring you this update, it is understood a few Dart SLFs are currently expected to transfer (or be loaned) to Grimsby. The first of these, 34848, is pictured in Grimsby on 29th November 2022. This was delivered new to Gainsborough in 2006, and since then had spent its whole life allocated there! © Sam Boothby.
